General Booking Conditions
Hotel Pieksänlinna’s customer undertakes to follow the hotel’s rules and terms and conditions when making a reservation on Hotel Pieksänlinna’s website or any other possible route.
GENERAL
- Hotel Pieksänlinna is not an accessible environment.
- Hotel Pieksänlinna is a smoke-free and pet-free hotel.
- Prices shown on the website include VAT.
- Prices at Hotel Pieksänlinna may vary depending on the booking or accommodation period.
- The customer is responsible for the accuracy of all information provided.
- Hotel Pieksänlinna reserves the right to change prices and booking conditions. Customers must always familiarize themselves with the current booking conditions before making a reservation.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to carefully read the hotel description, instructions, and applicable booking and cancellation conditions before making a reservation.
- The reservation becomes binding when the order/payment confirmation is sent to the customer, who pays for the reservation according to the chosen payment method, following the terms of the payment method.
- The order/payment confirmation is automatically sent from the system to the customer’s provided email address.
- The hotel is not responsible for network or system errors that may occur in connection with the reservation.
- The terms and conditions apply to accommodation reservations that are made through Hotelli Pieksänlinna’s website.
RESERVATION AND CONFIRMATION
When making a reservation, personal information about all individuals included in the same booking must be provided. If this information is not provided as stated, Hotel Pieksänlinna reserves the right not to confirm the reservation or to cancel a previously made reservation. The reservation becomes binding when the customer has made the payment for the room reservation, provided the required, legally required personal information, and the booking confirmation has been sent from the booking system according to the customer’s provided information.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE FROM THE HOTEL
The room is available on the day of arrival from 3:00 PM. On the day of departure, the room must be vacated by 12:00 PM, after which door codes no longer work. The hotel may have different arrival and departure times.
When paying for the room, the reservation will be held for the agreed period, and you can check in within the specified times that suit you best.
CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOW
The customer has the right to change or cancel their reservation free of charge no later than 48 hours before the start of the reservation. The customer will receive a refund according to their chosen payment method.
Changes or cancellations cannot be made less than 48 hours before the arrival time. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the cancellation is made on time.
If the customer departs before the agreed departure date, the unused accommodation fee will not be refunded.
USE OF THE ROOM, KEY CODES, AND CHECK-OUT
Individuals staying in the room are not allowed to admit outsiders to the hotel premises. Hotel Pieksänlinna reserves the right, at its discretion, to remove from the hotel premises any person who is not a guest or an individual listed in the same accommodation reservation.
Key codes granting access to the hotel or rooms must not be given to anyone other than those individuals listed as staying in the room.
If the room is not vacated by the departure time of 12:00 PM on the departure date, thus hindering room cleaning, Hotel Pieksänlinna reserves the right to charge the customer for the delay incurred after 12:00 PM, at a rate of €20 per hour or part thereof, until the room is properly vacated.
Guests staying in the hotel must ALWAYS ensure that the doors are locked when leaving the room or the hotel.
Hotel Pieksänlinna is not responsible for items left in the rooms or hotel’s common areas.
If a guest or an individual listed in the same accommodation reservation, or any other person admitted to the hotel premises by them, materially violates the booking conditions or house rules, the hotel has the right to terminate the reservation immediately.
PAYMENT
Accommodation reservations are paid at the time of room reservation through Hotel Pieksänlinna’s website, using valid payment intermediary services. The most common payment methods, including major credit cards, PayPal, ApplePay, and GooglePay, are accepted.
USE OF COMMON AREAS AND FACILITIES
Hotel Pieksänlinna provides its guests with access to a complimentary laundry room and its associated amenities. For the general comfort, remember to leave the communal facilities in the same condition as they were upon arrival and return any items, such as ironing and other equipment, to their designated places after use.
ROOM CLEANING
During the stay, room cleaning is performed only if the reservation is made continuously for a week, in which case basic cleaning is carried out once a week. Hotel Pieksänlinna’s staff may enter the hotel room during the stay as needed, for example, for necessary maintenance work or other similar reasons.
LOST AND FOUND
Items found in the hotel are delivered to the Pieksämäki Police Station, where they can be inquired about by calling 0295 415 436 (Mon-Wed 13:00–15:00, Fri 13:00–15:00).
AGE LIMITS
The customer must be of legal age. A minor may stay in the hotel provided that at least one legal adult accompanies them in the same room.
GUEST RESPONSIBILITY
The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the contact information provided at the time of booking. Hotel Pieksänlinna is not liable for situations where booking confirmation or other related information could not be delivered due to erroneous contact information provided by the customer or any other mistake.
The individual staying in the room is fully responsible for any damages and costs incurred to hotel rooms, common areas, hotel furnishings, other guests, or third parties, or their property, resulting from the negligent or intentional actions of the customer, the occupant, or any other person admitted to the hotel premises by them, or which are a consequence of actions contrary to these booking conditions.
In case of any damage, immediately contact the maintenance – phone number 0400 650 660 – to avoid possible additional costs.
If the identity of the person causing damage or costs in the room cannot be determined or if the damages or costs cannot be recovered from them, the damages and costs will be invoiced to the customer who made the reservation.
HOTEL RESPONSIBILITY
If a guest notices an error or deficiency related to their booking or the condition of the hotel rooms or equipment, they must inform the hotel immediately at info@pieksanlinna.fi or by calling the maintenance number at 0400 650 660 during their stay so that the hotel can rectify the error or deficiency during the stay. The hotel is not obligated to compensate for errors or deficiencies that have not been reported in the aforementioned manner.
If a customer arrives at the hotel during its opening hours but the reserved room is not available, we will endeavor to provide the nearest possible equivalent room without additional costs. If this is not possible, the customer is entitled to a refund of the payment made. We will inform you promptly of any changes to the reservation. In any case, the hotel’s liability is limited to refunding the paid price, not providing additional compensation.
VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES
Violations include, among others:
- Providing the key code to anyone other than the individual listed in the same accommodation reservation.
- Accommodating anyone other than the individual listed in the same accommodation reservation in the room.
- Using the room for purposes other than personal accommodation.
- Repeated behavior that disturbs hotel residents or residents living near the hotel.
- Damaging hotel room, hotel common areas, or property therein.
A notice of termination of accommodation is sent via email to the email address provided at the time of booking and via text message to the phone numbers to which Hotel Pieksänlinna has sent the room key code.
If a customer or an individual listed in the same accommodation reservation has materially violated the booking conditions or hotel rules during previous stays, Hotel Pieksänlinna reserves the right, at its discretion, to not accept new reservations or to cancel new reservations before their start date.
If the accommodation agreement is terminated prematurely, the door code ceases to function immediately, and the customer is not entitled to a refund of payments made or any other compensation.
FORCE MAJEURE
Hotel Pieksänlinna is not liable for any damage, delay, or failure to fulfill the contract caused by a force majeure event, which is beyond the hotel’s control and could not reasonably have been foreseen by Hotel Pieksänlinna at the time of booking or thereafter, and which could not reasonably have been avoided or overcome by Hotel Pieksänlinna (force majeure). Force majeure events include, but are not limited to, fires, water damage, war, states of emergency, natural disasters, or orders or directives issued by authorities, resulting in the hotel being partially or completely out of use.
In the event of force majeure affecting the reserved room or its use, Hotel Pieksänlinna has the right to cancel the reservation either before the start of the accommodation (if the force majeure event occurs before this time) or during the accommodation (if the force majeure event occurs during the accommodation). Hotel Pieksänlinna will notify the customer immediately upon receiving information about the force majeure event.
If a reservation is canceled due to force majeure, the paid reservation fee will be refunded. In these cases, Hotel Pieksänlinna is not obligated to provide alternative accommodation to the customer or to compensate for other costs, expenses, or damages resulting from the cancellation and/or the force majeure event (such as additional costs incurred in arranging alternative accommodation for the customer, travel expenses, or damages to the customer’s property in the room), except to the extent and only to the extent that such costs, expenses, or damages may be covered by Hotel Pieksänlinna’s insurance at the time of the event.
OTHER
These booking conditions do not diminish customer rights based on mandatory consumer protection legislation. Any disputes shall be handled in the District Court of South Savo.
